The hymn is chanted beginning at Vespers for the Feast of Transfiguration (evening of August 5) and through the apodosis (leavingtaking or “giving back” of the feast) on August 13.
Transfiguration is the only Feast of the Lord that features an apolytikion in Grave Mode.
